The Challenge...

Welcome to our blog! We are a bio-mom (Stephanie) and step-mom (Trisha) who have put our differences aside and are going to join forces and lose the weight we have been struggling with for some time. We have a competitive streak between us, and we are going to turn it around to positive energy and benefit ourselves and our family.

We will be having fun weekly challenges to help keep us motivated as well as weekly weigh ins. The weigh in will be by percentage. (Loss divided by weight before loss = percentage)

We will blog about our experiences, our losses and our gains.

Stephanie here...

I have been battling the binge and I am winning.  I have some handy tools which I use every second of the day and I am so far doing okay.  I eat at certain times of the day and I only eat what I bring.  Now when the lady from the office brings in her super incredible best fudge in the world in, I hope I have strength to make it through...

I weighed in at 185.  So got through the holidays without a gain...so I am a winner there!!  I watched portions and drank a ton of water.  And coffee! :)  And tea... :)

My kids have been keeping me plenty busy and we are making crafts and getting gifts sent off for our craft swaps.  My daughter is finishing that up this week.  I am finishing up a stocking swap! :)

So my goals for this week are very similar to Trisha's....water, water, water.  15 minutes of movement a day.  and of course, no binging.

I'll take that challenge!

Game on Trisha!!  Good idea!  Something to mix it up!!  Something intense!!!

What about if we do an hour a day of intense exercise???  It doesn't have to be at one time but at least a 1/2 hour at a time??

And yes WATER!!!  125 oz sounds good to me!

A cleansing of the soul...I need this badly!  So much is going on and about to go on that is stressful and sad and I need some good endorphins running through my body!  I feel good when I exercise and I need to remember that and stick to it.  Perfect timing for this idea Trisha!!!

As for the prize...what about our favorite "the coffee card"!!!  :)  Or what about we spend 5-10 bucks on each other in anyway we want as long as we keep it healthy??

I think we need...

A WEEKEND CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!

When I go back and read the posts (all 47 of them), I see a difference in motivation, perhaps it's just a perception, but...

What say you Miss Stephanie?

125 ounces of water for Saturday AND Sunday
Some sort of intense exercise??? How long?

Shall we have a reward? If we both do it, we both get the reward, if not, then only one of us gets the reward from the other one?

Challenging challenge

--Trisha
So, the clean eating challenge for this week, well, it has not been happening for me. I was eating cleaner before I went to cheer camp in Ellensburg. I did have some processed foods, no sweets or desserts, but it is hard when the cooking is out of my hands, and with all the exercise, I was HUNGRY! I did watch portions, and made the best of my choices! I did one night eat a PB&J instead of the greasy tacos they were serving, and I did choose wheat bread, but I didn't have a choice of organic bread or jelly or PB.

For me, the clean eating is starting today! And, so far so good :)

I've been keeping up on my water! And, holy smokes, we walked (about 4 miles a day) and moved and did a ton of exercise all week. I also had to walk up 40 stairs to my room, which I did that at least four times a day.

Honestly, my goal for this week is to maintain, maybe have a small loss. My week two is never as good as my week one and three.

Stephanie here...

Well after my non loss this week, I have decided to switch things up and see if I can get my burners on!  I have cut out process foods and sugars from my diet.  I am not going to tell myself "just a little bit" any longer.  It is gone, out, vanished from my hands...and how do I feel?

I am still movin, movin, movin!!!  I don't know what I would do without my walks during the day!

And my water intake, still rockin the 100oz or more!!!  Gotta have the fluids or I feel soooo thirsty!

I know Trisha has been a busy bee!  I can't wait to hear about her efforts!!!  Is it hard to keep up the good habits when your away?  I find it hard to keep up the good work when I am at home, I have about 10,000 other things I need to do but I just tell myself, I have to take care of me first...that is the hard part. ME FIRST!

Another cool tool!

--Trisha

I just found a water consumption calculator! Seeing as how we have been shooting for 100 ounces, and  I have been meeting the challenge (yesterday 125 and today 115 ounces), I was excited to see that based on my weight, I should be drinking 118 ounces. So, I need to drink 3 more ounces!

Check it out right HERE!

P.S. I can't weight until my body gets used to this extra water, and I am not running to the restroom every other minute!

Challenge #1

Stephanie here...

So our first challenge has started this morning.  YAY!!!  Trisha and I will be attempting to reach the goal of 100oz of water a day.  This competition will be good for me because I have good intentions of drinking a lot of water but by afternoon, I have slowed down to almost a halt on intake.  I don't drink soda but ice tea is good.  I love water and I miss it when I don't get a lot of it.  On the weekends, I don't drink as much water as I do when I am at work, so having this challenge during the weekend will totally benefit me!  I figure, "they" say the best thing you can do for your diet is drink lots and lots of water and stay hydrated.  So what a great way to start our healthy lifestyle change!

It will be interesting to see what the scale says on Monday after being consistent on water??

Trisha,
I love your picture!!!  I can't wait to see our end results!
